Mental Health
A healthy working mind is an important part of wellbeing, and disruptions in the normal psychological workings of the mind are known as mental health disorders. The term 'mental health disorder' covers a wide range of complex psychological conditions which negatively affect your cognition, emotions and behaviour. Mental illnesses include depression, anxiety and bipolar disorders affecting mood, as well as behavioural conditions such as obsessive-compulsive disorder, body image or eating disorders and addictive behaviour.
At Centurion Healthcare, we focus on the treatment of mood disorders, as well as identifying and treating the psychological components in disrupted sleep, such as insomnia and sleep apnoea.
What to do if you suspect you have a mental illness
If you suspect you may have any of the above disorders, talk to your GP about getting a referral to see a Clinical Psychologist, or read on for more information about mood disorders or the psychological components of disordered sleep.
